About the New Site
Welcome to the new ExploreUK! The digital library provides access to the same rare and unique research materials, just with a new design-- and more changes are coming in the near future.
The most obvious change is the new look! ExploreUK was redesigned to improve discovery and use of our research materials. The new site is more ADA compliant, puts important features front and center, and is mobile friendly.
Other changes include
- A “How to” section with tips for requesting and using our materials
- A new paged-item viewer
- A new contact form
- More prominent download buttons
It’s also worth noting that the site itself is on updated and more stable infrastructure. This will allow us to continue making improvements to the site and the systems that support it.
What didn’t change?
The site’s urls did not change, so your bookmarked pages will work on the new site. If you notice any broken links, contact us for assistance.
We’re not done yet. What’s coming?
The new site design is the first step in a bigger process. There are more changes and features planned for the near future. Here are a few of the highlights:
Downloading multi-page PDFs: Have you wanted to easily download the entire copy of the WPA’s Directory and Description of Professional and Service Projects in Kentucky or other books on ExploreUK? Soon you’ll be able to download multi-page PDFs of entire publications, newsletters, and other items.
Citation information: Citations can be confusing, especially for archival collections. ExploreUK will soon offer full citation information for MLA, APA, and Chicago styles.
Additional information about our collections: Have you ever wondered more about the WWI diary you found? ExploreUK will display collection summaries for items that are part of archival collections.
More filter options: Sometimes you are only interested in seeing the April 21, 1965 issue of the Kentucky Kernel or materials written in Japanese. We’re building tools that provide more ways of refining your searches.
If you are having issues:
We recommend using the following browsers for searching ExploreUK.
- Microsoft Edge
